The Beginning of a Legacy

The Parmar family’s tailoring story began back in 1942 when a 9-year-old Pitamber started learning the craft from his older brother, Kanji Naggi Parmar, who was 22 years his senior. Under Kanji’s guidance in Mumbai, Pitamber built the skills that would one day grow into a renowned bespoke tailoring empire.

  1. The Founding Journey

    1956

    On June 10, 1956, at just 23 years old, Mr. Pitamber Parmar set out on a 5-day boat journey from Mumbai to Dubai, a trip that would change his life forever. When he arrived, he opened the very first Parmar Tailors store in the old Dubai Souq, now called Souq al Kabeer, right by the historic Dubai Creek. The shop quickly became a go-to for royalty, the British Army stationed in the UAE, visiting merchants, and the growing business community.

  2. New Generation, New Location

    1986

    Mr. Pitamber's son, Prakash, joined the family business, bringing new energy and fresh ideas. That same year, the store moved to Al Fahidi Street in Bur Dubai, where it’s still proudly serving customers today.

  3. Strategic Expansion

    1996

    The Al Fahidi Street location grew significantly, boosting the company’s presence right in Dubai’s traditional business district.

  4. Premium Luxury Debut

    2006

    The business took a big step forward with the launch of "Bespoke," a premium luxury atelier in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). It was one of the first stores in DIFC and the first in the UAE to offer fully authentic, 100% bespoke tailoring. This was a game-changer for Dubai’s luxury fashion sector.

  5. Prestigious Growth

    2010

    Parmar Tailors opened its second branch at Almas Tower, bringing the brand to one of Dubai's most prestigious business hubs.

  6. Strategic Partnership

    2013

    A landmark partnership was formed with Ermenegildo Zegna, making Parmar Tailors the sole distributors of this prestigious Italian luxury brand in the UAE.

  7. Production Excellence

    2017

    In April 2017, a purpose-built production house was inaugurated to cater to the manufacturing requirements of all three stores, with the capacity to accommodate 150 skilled tailors, ensuring uncompromising quality and timely delivery.

  8. Celebrating Excellence

    2018

    The inaugural Bespoke Soirée, a distinguished Gentlemen's Soirée, was held at Creek Hire, celebrating the art of bespoke tailoring and bringing together connoisseurs of fine craftsmanship.

  9. Exclusive Partnership Enhancement

    2024

    The partnership with Ermenegildo Zegna reached new heights with access to their most exclusive fabrics, including the ultra-rare "10 milmil 10" collection. This collaboration also brought one of Zegna's finest limited-edition fabrics to Dubai, with only 40 suit lengths available worldwide.
